ABERNATHY, Ronald Fittz, a longtime resident of Alexandria, Va., passed away peacefully Sunday, September 18, 2022. Born March 11, 1947 in Richmond, Va., he was son of the former Richard F. Abernathy and Neta T. Abernathy. Ron graduated from Hermitage High School, University of Richmond and Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy. In high school, he enjoyed playing trumpet with the marching band. Piano and organ were always his favorites. He loved the beach, mountains, good food, wine and his Dobermans. He is survived by his brother, Douglas T. Abernathy of Huntington Beach, California; and sister, Cheryl A. Shelton of Biloxi, Mississippi.
