In Memory

David Melton

David Melton

Just got word that we have lost another classmate.  Again, please keep DAVIS family in your thoughts and prayers.

David Wesley Melton of Glen Allen, VA, 79, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on June 12, 2026. “My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’” - ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭8‬

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Larry Melton Sr., and his brothers, Carter and Robert Melton.

He is survived by his loving, devoted and faithful wife, Terry Melton, and his adoring children; daughter, Amy Hardison, her husband, Zach Hardison, son, Matthew Melton, his wife, Sarah Melton; 8 beautiful grandchildren, Chloe, Cami, Max, Ashlyn, Bella, Maverick, Jonah and Shepherd; a granddog, Mitzi Lu, and other loving family and friends.

David worked at Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company for 35 years and retired many years ago. He was insanely smart with finances and had a great passion for studying the stock market. He was also a talented musician and played electric guitar, bass, and sang in a top-40 cover band for more than 20 years.

He thoroughly enjoyed spending his time at his backyard pool. He loved playing cards and working on puzzles with his friends and family. His favorite beach spot was Surfside, SC, where he spent a lot of time with his beach buddies and family. He would spend his days there searching for shark teeth, enjoying the ocean and watching his family surf.

David loved to share his blessing with those less fortunate, and those that knew him well often heard the question: “Do you need anything? You just let me know.”

Even though he will be greatly missed, his family rejoices knowing that he is fully healed in the presence of his Savior.

Family will receive friends from 2-4:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Affinity Funeral Service located at 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294. A private graveside service will be held Friday, June 26, 2026
