Does anyone know more about Kaye's death?  Such a loss, of a vibrant person whose smile and kindness I recall.

I knew Kay since we were in Glen Allen Elementary, Brookland, and Hermitage.  After graduation, we went our separate ways, but in 2002 we reunited at the International Mission Board in different departments.  She left in 2004 and I left in 2005.  I attended her funeral in November, 2005.  She died of breast cancer.

I always admired her intelligence.  She excelled in whatever she did.  If I remember correctly, she and I were in Clarice Harrison's junior English class when Paul Watson announced over the intercom that President Kennedy had been shot in Dallas.  That was the defining moment for our generation.

From the 1964 Panthian Yearbook. "A look of surprise captures Kay Pitts, tapped into the National Honor Society by Barbara Scott."

I always loved Kay and was hoping to re-connect with her when I heard of her death.  She was such a fabulous, loving person and all who had the opportunity to know her, were enriched by her.

When I lived in Huntington West Virginia for a few years, Kay gave my aunt clothes that I might like, For awhile I lived 2 doors down from Kay and Nancy. I went to their house each morning to wait for the school bus. Kay tried her best to teach me how to play the piano . Nothing doing on my part. She was one of the sweetest people I have know since I started back to school here( long time). She was a friend to all who knew her and remained their friend!
