Thomas Tyndall

TYNDALL, Thomas Avery, 74, of Richmond, Va., passed away on December 13, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Nancy; his father, James Tyndall; and his sister-in-law, Priscilla Tyndall. He is survived by his children, Kelly Shows (Brian), Michael Tyndall (Kelly), Christy Goode (Scott) and David Tyndall (Jessica); his five grandchildren, Haley, Jenna, Rebecca, Francis and Amelia; his mother, Geraldine Tyndall; his siblings, Mary Ruehrmund (Paul), Richard Tyndall, Robert Tyndall, Carolyn Arkema (Bruce) and David Tyndall (Donna); and an extended network of loved ones and aircraft enthusiasts. Tom served in the USAF for 20 years, including assignments in Panama, Vietnam, Spain and Iran. He contributed to aviation as an educator in Henrico County Public Schools, as an organizer at numerous airshows, as a private flight instructor, and as an aircraft mechanic throughout central Virginia. In lieu of flowers, his family asks you to send donations in his memory to EAA Chapter 231 or the VCU Massey Cancer Center. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery is expected in the Fall of 2021. Chuck Owen

Thommy was one of the " Greendale Gang". He was a great guy and had a lot of friends. His mom was always good for a coke on a hot summer day after a ball game or just carousing around. or being  chased off Mr. Snelson's section of woods. Life was a lot more simple back then and I feel very fortunate to have grown up with Tommie and the rest of the "gang". Rest in Peace my good friend.
