Mike Woody of Richmond, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2022. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Louis & Eleanora Corrieri and Charles & Alma Woody; father, William Llewellyn Woody; mother, Rose Marie Corrieri Woody; brother, Christopher Woody; and loving wife of 53 years, Joan Wilson Woody. He is survived by sisters, Christine Whitehead, Pat Edwards, and Joann Woody Reed; brother, Paul Woody; son, Chris Woody; daughter-in-law, Courtney Woody; grandsons, Christopher and Liam Woody; granddaughters, Campbell & Baylor Woody; great-granddaughter, Avery Woody; great-grandson, Keller Woody; and nephews, Justin, Kevin, & Mark whitehead, and Stephen Vaughan.

Mike Woody was a sweet, kind, gentle man with a great sense of humor. He was driven by his faith, which he was a parishioner and volunteer at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for many years. He was a long time employer at the West Hampton Post Office for 45 years. Mike was a volunteer for the Metropolitan Youth Football League for 33 years as the Commissioner of Football. He loved giving back to the kids in the community, it was a passion. He was fair, honest, and loyal. Married to his high school sweetheart, Joan, for 53 years and now will be reunited for eternity. As much as he enjoyed giving back to his community, he loved his grandkids even more. He was filled with pride and love whenever he heard the name, Papa. His favorite football team the Washington Redskins, he loved them so. Watching each game, every week in his Redskins Room. His smile, laugh, work ethic, joy of yard work, and love will forever be missed. He was the best son, brother, friend, leader, husband, dad, and papa.

The Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on June 1, 2022 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 823 Cathedral Place.
