GAREAU, Ann Meredith, 75, of Glen Allen, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Ann was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Ann was an educator, mentor, advocate and program manager. Ann cared about her community and worked for Henrico County Public Schools for 40 years and Michigan Public Schools for 10 years prior to joining HCPS. Ann held a master's degree in Speech Pathology from Michigan State University and was a licensed speech therapist prior to transitioning into Adult Education supporting the English Language Acquisition (ELA) program. Ann joined ELA first as a teacher and then led the program for over 15 years as the Program Coordinator. Ann felt all individuals young and old, no matter of circumstances, deserved an education. Ann worked tirelessly and devoted herself to the betterment of her teachers, students and community. Ann was preceded in death by her father, Minor Mason Meredith; mother, Jessie Honeycutt Meredith; and her brother, Minor Mason "Bud" Meredith II. She is survived by her husband, Paul "Skip" Gareau; son, Jason Gareau (Kate); grandchildren, Stella, Mira and Alex Gareau. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Ashland, Va., with visitation one hour after service. Condolences at blileys.com.
