55th Reunion Weekend

October 8-10, 2021

After a year’s postponement due to COVID-19 our reunion is going to happen. Your Reunion Committee has worked diligently to make this weekend a very special one for everyone. Here’s what you can expect.

THE BIG EVENT:

Saturday, October 9, 2021,       6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Richmond Country Club, 12950 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238    804-784-5272

Cost: $85 per person

The cash bar opens at 6:00 p.m., followed with heavy hors d’oeuvres at 7:00 p.m. Music will be provided by The Escorts (voted Richmond’s best band) beginning at 8:00 p.m. for those of us whose balance still permits dancing.

SATURDAY DAYTIME ACTIVITY CHOICES:

James River Canal Boat Ride:   Enjoy a leisurely hour-long boat ride with classmates alongside Richmond’s James River Canal from 14th Street to Brown’s Island and back. Soda and water will be provided onboard. Board at 139 Virginia Ave., (23219) at 2 p.m. Cost is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required. The website for Venture Richmond, the operator, is venturerichmond.com.

Noon lunch reservations have been made at the Southern Railway Taphouse, 100 South 14th Street for those who register. Lunch will be at your own cost.  The restaurant is a short walk from the canal boats. Their website is srtaphouse.com if you want to see their menu.

Activities On Your Own:   Some classmates will prefer more freestyle and less structure.  We will provide you with a list of suggestions for breweries, cideries, wineries, museums, botanical gardens, shooting ranges, and more.

Pre-registration headcounts and deposits will be necessary, so we request full payment for all activities at this time. The lunches are optional, not part of a package. You can lunch with classmates without moving to an activity, or you can skip lunch and just do the activity. Or neither.

Watch your emails and visit the www.Hermitage65.com “Events” tab for additional details. We will provide a running list of who has registered to do what. The website is a great way to communicate with each other.

Dear Classmates:
It saddens me to make this decision. There are so many exciting plans for the reunion that I would like to be a part of but Arizona has quite an increase in covid. I don't want to pass it on with traveling.
Please remember me in your "tall" tales of the past and , yes I am still 6 feet tall. Have not shrunk yet. Hope to see you all next time.
